In 2008, The Al-Rida Community Welfare Association (ACWA) revealed plans to the community about the establishment of a mosque within the western suburbs Sydney district which would include an educational facility.
The proposal indicated the following: “It is imperative to have a holy place for worship and a school to educate our children with authentic Islamic values in order to fulfil our duties and obligations as Muslims to Allah (S.W.T), to our country Australia the land full of opportunities for all people and to the overall community. “
On the 16th of August 2011, ACWA presented its ultimate milestone to the public by displaying and holding its Annual Iftar dinner within its recently established internal Mosque structure, Masjid Imam Al-Rida (a).
In September 2011, the community was moved during our 2011 Annual Event by sharing what was considered the Realisation of a Dream!
A community has come together with one hope, one dream and motivation to share the endless rewards of establishing Gods House. The stages of hardship, patience and struggle has been embraced our Duas have been answered, never shall we forget when we gathered in hope in temporary sheds not sure of tomorrow, not knowing what plan Allah (S.W.T) had for us and what blessings he would shower on us, AllhumduAllah.
